Worked really well, definitely smoothed out the ride. We are finding significantly less chaos with the equipment in the trailer.

The only complaint I would have is trying to use the Sumo Spring for very small enclosed trailers. The STEEL MOUNT was too tall, to meet the relaxed position height, so we cut 1" out of the mount and re-welded together, and repainted. But other than the additional modification it worked great.

Overall its a good product! There is certainly only so much you can do with a single axle trailer, its going to be a rough ride. But the Sumo Springs definitely smooth it out. We have had significantly less damaged items in the trailer after installing them.

by:

I purchased these for a 2022 Forest River Wolf Pup 16BHS. During the process of replacing the leaf springs I also had these SumoSprings installed to help with a smoother ride and to increase the longevity of the leaf springs. One year later everything is still working as intended. Would definitely recommend this product to anyone looking for a smoother ride or to increase the life of your leaf springs.

by:

Well-manufactured and designed product. I'm 74 and it took me about two hours to install on my travel trailer, but there were no problems and it seemed to fit perfectly and do the job I wanted it to do, which was support the leaf springs. Shipping was fast and free, and the follow-up is clear and honest. Great job, etrailer!!

Great! No problems whatsoever. If anything these helper springs aided me in avoiding future pothole problems.

by:

My order arrived quickly and correct. I appreciate the tracking emailed to me. The helpers went on easily and just like the video. My only modification was to remove the band on the rear spring. (A five minute task) The RV sits about 1 1/2 inches taller. I prefer this to flipping the axle in order to maintain a low center of gravity. In the picture, the springs actually are vertical when the RV is put back on the ground.

One year later, no problems. Everything has worked well. The RV is more stable on the road. Great product, I would buy again without hesitation.

by:

I installed these on my 2022 Forest River Wolf Pup 16FQ Black Label camper. These springs tremendously reduce swaying and augments the leaf springs to make the camper pull much more smoothly.. Highly recommended!

by:

Easy install on my 2012 Wolf Pup Travel Trailer. I am yet to take it out but the squeak from the leaf springs is gone and it feels much more stable walking around inside. I can’t wait to get it in the road! I gained about 1.5 inches of wheel well space to fender as noted by some other reviewers but my camper is near empty so loaded it will be perfect and I don’t mind having a bit more clearance as I have a low trailer to begin with. No spacers we’re needed for my camper. I would say also I have about .75-1 inch preload vs instructions which say recommended range is 1/4-.5 inches… again I felt OK installing and have used sumo springs in the past with good results.

by:

I just installed the SumoSprings on a KZ Sportsmen Classic 160QB and it makes a big difference in stability. I also ordered Part number TSS-CTP (contact plate) from SumoSprings since the travel trailer frame is slightly offset and the Sumospring makes only 60% contact. Always great service and useful info from etrailer.

by:

Paula was extremely helpful. Much appreciated. Would highly recommend

by:

They were easy to install and did everything they advertised. They smoothed out the ride, stabilized the load on the trailer even when the weight was off center. Well worth the money

by:

A breeze to install, excellent product.Significanly reduced bounce inside the trailer while in tow running.

by:

The Sumo springs for our dual axle 25' camper made it more stable esp on windy days and on bad roads. The stuff didn't get thrown from the cabinets.
Installation was easy after taking off the wheels.

by:

Great product, using on a single axle camper with a gross of about 4,800. Had an OEM spring snap before so wanted to ensure the new springs had some assistance for future wear prevention. Trailer is more sturdy to tow for sure. Not a world of difference, but definitely noticeable. Mostly on turns and when larger trucks pass, I can feel the camper shift and sway less, a very welcome feeling. Also, feels slightly sturdy when in trailer. Lastly, it sits a hair higher when fully loaded. Overall, a product I am very pleased with. Price seems a little high for the product you receive (material wise). But, it is a low cost investment for the future.

by:

Easy to install. Fit perfect. Waiting to see how they perform.

by:

Easy install and they significantly reduces the side to side roll on my small RV.

by:

Worked beautifully on homemade trailer with axle/leaf springs from old Rambler station wagon that easily bottomed out. Needed to do a wacky installation with added spacer, so probably invalidated warranty, but still works like a charm.

by:

My SumoSprings definitely help with trailer sway on windy days. They were not hard for me to install with standard tools.

by:

These were a great addition to my creaky dual-axle boat trailer. The banging and clanging on bumps is gone, and swaying on bumps/corners is reduced as well. An excellent investment!

by:

Got the wrong product, BUT I called and explained to Jeoff. I didn’t know if I explained it the right or the person didn’t hear me correctly? It really doesn’t matter, I just needed the right part. They are sending me a return label. Then I ordered the correct part. I’ve ordered from eTrailer before and been very happy. I very happy today, all is well

by:

Perfect fit for trailer with axle over leaf springs

by:

Got it and installed last week. Works for the trailer and I am happy with result

httpsThank you Etrailer.

by:

Great price, great service, and lightning quick shipping that arrived sooner than expected. Thanks etrailer!

by:

the mounting bracket should be shorter

by:

Already installed on my Toy Hauler trailer! Super happy with them! Thank you!

by:

I can't say as yet how they will perform as I haven't got them installed. I just received the springs today

  • Upgraded Tires With Higher Load Range for 2019 Forest River Wolf Pup
In order to achieve a higher load capacity, you will indeed need to upgrade to a larger size tire, the Westlake ST205/75R15 Radial Tire w 15" Lynx Aluminum Wheel - 5 on 4-1/2 - LR D - Silver # LHAW320 is a good option for this and will provide you with a 4,300 lb total weight capacity. The 5 on 4-1/2" bolt pattern is an industry standard and the overall dimensions are 27.1" diameter x 8" wide so you should have room for this new size. In regard to bump stops, the SumoSprings Trailer...

  • How Can I Reduce Bouncing On A Bumper Pull Trailer
There are a few things that can cause bounce with a bumper pull trailer. Generally, bias ply tires would not contribute to trailer bounce, unless they are excessively worn. Trailer bounce is can be caused by worn out suspension components. You will want to get under the trailer and give everything a good look-over. You will want to check and make sure the trailer is completely level when towing. If all of that checks out, it may be the case that you are just not towing enough weight...

  • Helper Spring System for Snowmobile Trailer With 3500 lb Axle
Timbren doesn't offer an application, but SumoSprings does. If your trailer has a overslung axle, where the leaf spring pack sits atop the axle beam, use # TSS-107-40 or if you have an underslung axle where the leaf spring pack sits under the axle beam, use # TSS-106-40. Either system is rated for axles with a 3-5K capacity, so it'll work great on the 3.5K axle of your snowmobile trailer. I've linked to product videos for he helper spring systems mentioned above.

  • How To Fix 2019 Vanleigh Vilano 5th Wheel Trailer Leaning To One Side
It is indeed sometimes common for a travel trailer to lean more to one side even when new as that side usually has all of the heavier appliances. This is not really any sort of warranty issue with the leaf springs but I do have an option that should help mitigate the effect of the trailer leaning to one side and that's with the SumoSprings Trailer Helper Springs part # TSS-106-40 for underslung and part # TSS-107-40 for overslung axles. This may not get you back to level but as the springs...

  • Will SumoSprings Trailer Helper Springs Help With Trailer Bottoming Out
Instead of replacing your leaf springs, the best solution for the issue you are having bottoming out is the SumoSprings Trailer Helper Springs # TSS-106-40. The reason is these will sit on the leaf spring and take the brunt of the capacity and cushion the ride, but you do need to have 7-1/2 inches of space from the leaf spring to the trailer frame. Otherwise, if you don't have that amount of space the best option would be to mount the leaf springs on top of the axle, and for that you...

  • Upgrade For Trailer Leaf Springs On 3,500LB Trailer Axle
I do have a recommendation for you as changing spring lengths and weight ratings can lead to a less than desirable ride quality. And the only way to determine if the longer springs will fit can be different for different trailers. The SumoSprings Trailer Helper Springs for Overslung # TSS-107-40 or Underslung # TSS-106-40 axles will help to provide up to 500lbs of capacity. These jounce springs help to provide a smoother ride by absorbing road shock and also helping to reduce leaf spring...

If you have an underslung axle in which the leaf springs are mounted below the axle then you need the SumoSprings Trailer Helper Springs part # TSS-106-40 which is also designed for 3K to 5K capacity axles. I have a solution for you but because of the width of your leaf springs, the SuperSprings # TSS-106-40 are not going to be a workable solution for you since they do not make a SuperSpring to work with that size leaf spring. The SumoSprings kit # TSS-106-40 does for sure fit your application based on the dimension you just mentioned of 7-3/4 inches from the spring plate to the bottom of the trailer frame. Since the SumoSprings Trailer Helper Springs # TSS-106-40 and the Roadmaster Comfort Ride Shocks # RM-2460 install in the same place, you would need to totally remove the SumoSprings. With that said you will notice a pretty significant increase and ride quality as the Comfort Ride Shocks do a great job of absorbing road shock when going over bumps in the road, and help fight sway as well. As your 2018 Keystone Hideout has a fully loaded weight of 9,665 pounds, these springs may be a little too highly rated, in my opinion.
